The Pack Rat

My husband, the darling
  has only one fault…
He just can’t seem
  to throw anything out.

They’re historical items
  and someday worth money.
He says that includes me
  his wife and his honey.

He’s kept many things
  that he holds so dear
Old motors, old keys and
  never used fishing gear.

Stashed things in attics,
  pushed them under our bed.
Saved many jeans, in case
  some pounds are shed.

All these, he thinks he’ll
  have use for someday.
But a lot will be tossed
if his wife gets her way.

The hardest thing that
he ever has said, is –
“Honey, don’t store it
  just chuck it instead.”
