In-Betweens

‘Man is born to trouble as surely
as sparks fly upward.’ Job 5:7.

Issues loom in the background
The stocks have tumbled down
Business deals remain unsigned
Buildings toppled to the ground.

Still, life is good.
I will enjoy it,
In-between.

Mother-in-law moved in ‘to visit’
The eldest daughter still unwed
Injured son has moved back home
The savings bank account is bled.

Still, life is good.
I will enjoy it,
In-between.

Friend’s husband killed suddenly
The terrorists claim many more
Life’s problems can challenge, ruin
Or make us saddle sore.

Still, life is good.
I will enjoy,
the in-betweens.
